This is an antique Japanese four level round lidded food box known as a Jubako made of ceramic in the Meiji Era (1868-1912)

It has been high fired for lasting durability. Having been carefully displayed and well cared for in recent decades this vase remains in fine condition. From a local estate of a life long ikebana practitioner who immigrated from Japan with much of her collection in the 1960's. Height = 5. 25" Diameter = 11"
